The Tata group began its relationship with the African continent in 1977 with the establishment of Tata Zambia.

In 1994, the Tata group inaugurated Tata Africa Holdings Limited in Johannesburg, South Africa, which now serves as the group's headquarters in the continent.

The Tata brand is synonymous with quality products and ethical business operations in Africa. Tata International commenced Distribution on operations in Africa in 1969. Our subsidiary Tata Africa Holdings is a leading channel partner for the distribution of commercial vehicles in Africa. We have a network of showrooms and workshops across 12 countries, and a partnership in an assembly plant located in Rosslyn, South Africa. With a good understanding of the local markets, we enhanced our distribution portfolio with the addition of farm machinery, construction and forestry equipment as well as extra heavy commercial vehicles for long hauls.
